The Parish Council supports the Allotments Group that has developed a site adjacent to the Gaulby Road at the edge of the village.
The Allotments Group was set up by Billesdon Parish Council in November 2008, to identify a site for allotments within the Parish and to develop such a site for use by residents of the Parish. A site was eventually identified, in August 2010, on rented farmland adjacent to Coplow Lane, Billesdon. Grant aid was awarded by the Rural Community Council and development of the site was completed in the Spring of 2011. A launch to open the site took place on Friday 17th June, 2011, with 30 people in attendance. In 2012, the new owner of the land withdrew permission for the allotments and they were closed.
In 2013 a new site, adjacent to the Woodland Pool on Gaulby Road, was identified as a replacement site. Working with Billesdon Parish Council, this new site is rented from Leicestershire County Council and has been brought into productive use.
The allotments are managed by 'Billesdon Allotments', with an elected Chair, Secretary and Treasurer. General enquiries concerning the availability of plots and how to join the Group can be obtained from Jonathan (259 6681) or Anna (259 9312).
