Planning Applications

Planning applications are decided by Harborough District Council. Applications are expected to comply with the Harborough Local Plan 2011 - 2031 which replaces the previous 'Core Strategy'. Below is a link to the current Local Plan which is made up of various documents.

In addition, since 2014 Billesdon Parish has had its own 'Neighbourhood Development Plan'; it forms part of the Local Plan. The Billesdon Neighbourhood Development Plan was informed, in part, by the earlier (2011) Billesdon Parish Plan, which you can read about in our 'Village Information - Directory' pages under 'Community Groups'. A copy of the current Neighbourhood Plan can be found here:

The Parish Council receives details of applications and are consulted on them. We can submit our views (taking into account the views of local residents), but the District Council primarily look to us to provide local insight and may not follow our view.
